About Ruchi

Ruchi Sinha is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the Business School of the University of South Australia. She is an organizational psychologist by training with extensive experience in management consulting and industry-funded research who has branched out into public speaking and her own podcast to spread her knowledge. She earned her PhD in Organizational Psychology from Michigan State University, USA, the No. 1 Org Psychology doctorate program in the world, after earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Dehli University. She was previously on an Assistant Professor on tenure track at the Indian School of Business. Her strong research focus and reliance on scientifically rigorous methods combined with her deep knowledge of psychology and strong communication skills make her an excellent advisor, consultant and speaker.


Areas of Expertise

Research Expertise: Ruchi’s research focuses on team decision-making, conflict and voice within teams, trust-building, leadership, workplace flexibility, and negotiation effectiveness. Her research on negotiations, leadership, conflict, and speaking-up at work has been published in top-tier academic outlets. She is on the Editorial Board of highly ranked Psychology and Management journals and serves on the leadership team for the Conflict Management Division of the Academy of Management.


Training Expertise: Ruchi has expertise in research and teaching on the topic of negotiation skills. She has trained over 2000 managers and executives across various industries on leadership and negotiation skills. She is a skilled trainer who delivers modules on leadership development, managing teams, and trust-building. Ruchi is an engaging speaker who connects with her audience and clients to provide evidence-based advice and skill development. She has received multiple “Best Teacher” Awards for her teaching in the MBA program at Universities. Her credibility is well-established in the world of academia as well as practice.


Public Speaking: Ruchi’s vast knowledge, obtained through years of research and her ability to effectively simplify and communicate complex concepts, developed through teaching have made her an excellent public speaker. She has been invited to present her research at other institutes, notably ANU, the London School of Economics and the UWA business school and has delivered a number of public lectures, including at the HR Leadership Summary and the SA Government Digital Women’s forum. This has since lead to her selection to be a speaker at the TEDxUnisa event and to record a segment for TED’s The Way We Work series.


Media Coverage: Ruchi is exceptionally skilled at translating scientific research into actionable solutions. She has been quoted as an expert in several top media outlets (TV, Radio, newspaper; Podcast guest), including the New York Times. Ruchi has published in highly respectable practitioner outlets such as the Harvard Business Review, The Conversation, AHRI’s HRM online, SHRM, and many more.


Industry-Funded Partnerships: Ruchi has worked on large grants and is currently working on multiple industry-funded research and consulting projects to solve complex problems for the Australian Defence Forces, State Government Departments, and several private sector firms.
